October 30, 2008 in Almaty the international scientific conference "Evacuation: ressurection of the forgotten past". The conference is devoted to tragical pages of history of the Second World war - evacuation of the population of western areas of the Soviet Union in Kazakhstan in 1941 - 1943.
Organized the given measure Association of Jewish national organizations of Kazakhstan "Mitsva" together with the Central State Archive of the Ministry of culture and information of Kazakhstan at support of Akimat of Almaty.
The conference was opened by deputy Akim of Almaty, the doctor of sociological sciences, professor Serik Seydumanov.
- Akimat supports all measures, all undertakings connected to our history, history of Kazakhstan, with what it would not be, - said Serik, - For the people of Kazakhstan, as well as for many other peoples, Great Patriotic War - was huge tragedy. But, despite of it the evacuation in Kazakhstan played the large role for future of our state. Our republic received development of culture of the peoples living in our country, development of art, education and science.
In work of a conference took part the doctor of politology, demographer rector of the Central-Asian University Makash Tatimov, doctor of historical sciences Georgy Kan, doctor of historical sciences, professor Gizatulla Halidullin, doctor of philological sciences Knyaz Mirzoev, and other known historians and archivists from 6 countries of the world: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Far foreign countries.
- Great Patriotic War is a tragedy of all mankind, - noted on the opening President of Association "Mitsva" Alexander Baron, - And somehow on a background of this huge tragedy a white, unexplored stain there was an evacuation of the peace population from occupied territory. These were basically women, old men, children - because the men were in army. At the own pace, that is on foot, on carts, passing transport they left from occupants. Their destiny and, how the state, as the local population helped them, as in territory of not occupied countries, in particular of central Asia thousand enterprises were developed, it seemed extremely important, not explored enough. And right to these themes is devoted our today's meeting.
 On behalf of the President of the Euroasian Jewish Congress the scientific conference on the beginning of work was congratulated by the executive vice-president of EAJC Fedor Osinin.
Scientific conference fourth at the account for Association "Mitsva". This time it was preceded by two years of laborious work - collection of material, release of the book "Evacuation in Kazakhstan" in February of this year and exhibition of the archival documents, past in an exhibition hall of Hesed in May
