VICTORY DAY!

Astana 10.05.08

May 9, 1945, Soviet people win great victory over fascist aggressors. Ordeals, fell to our people’s lot, were really difficult.

More than half a century Victory Day is strong, indissoluble thread among us, present generation, and generation of war veterans, conquerors. Much as years has gone and much as words, full of gratitude and love, was sounded; younger generation always owe to the war veterans. Lamentably, but less and less people come for celebrating of Victory Day year by year. It can't be helped, besides that try to make this holiday more memorable for them.

Our war veterans were congratulated by all Hesed. There were a lot of tears and memories - terrible, biting. Those, who aren’t with us, were recalled; we complimented each other, we wished good, and phrase was said "I hope to G-d that our children never get to know war". We sang to the accompaniment of accordion; representative of Children Club David Levin read a poem about war; Michael Kreichman read out historical data of World War II: information about quantity of the Jewish who took part in the war. We remembered SHOA - these both themes are inseparable.

Everyone told his story for those 4 years, which changed life of our ancestors.

War veterans, certainly, weren’t ignored who aren’t able to go out from home for health reasons. Head of Jewish Center and her son visited and congratulated the war veterans who can't come to the holiday.

  - There were a lot of tears there! - Levina said. - It was the tears of joy and grief at the same time.

Everyone revere your memory, dear veterans. You are most dear and respected! Congratulations you!
