He was born in Odessa, and it speaks about much. He has sociable disposition and lyric soul of the poet. He is engineer and arrived on virgin lands after graduate from Kharkov automotive-road institute, worked on manufacture, finished postgraduate study.
He has been taught favourite exact sciences in University of Kostanay many years. And he is writing verses all life. The poet Vladimir Lyakhovetcky is knew far off outside our region, there are his books in capitals of republics, in native Odessa: "I sing a hymn to you, Odessa. I love you. I am your poet ". In our community the verses of Lyakhovetcky are often read on holidays, are devoted to birthday men. Vladimir is coordinator of the program "Traditions of the Jewish people" at ours Hesed. He participates in organization of holidays, most often and favorite from them is Kabbalat Shabbat, at which Lyahovetcky says prays-blessings "Shabbat shalom!" And he begins the stories about history of the nation, about traditions, from which we had been isolated before and we knew nothing, about the laws of Torah. Somebody supplements his story with the impressions, ask questions. The discussion is proceeding for repast. It is unhurried talk, and our tactful and clever chief of the program is in the centre. Like the skilled lecturer he carries in his mind tens of dates and names, not looking in the summary. Vladimir takes in his hands a microphone, tells about traditions of a holiday in details and interestingly on the large holidays, when they put together about hundred the man, but sometimes it is more. And then he walked tables, greets, almost each visitor, asks about health, felicitates on holiday. Lyahovetcky is knew and loved in the community.
Today Vladimir is seventy. "Golden autumn of life" - so he named this age in headline of the largest collection of verses. So let fruitful autumn lasts longer. The members of Kostanay community wish to him health, happiness, love of children and grandsons, creative successes.
