Victory Day! How far it was from us…

10.05.2008 Pavlodar

"Victory Day! How far it was from us …, this day we approached, as we could... " - this and other songs sang in our community, celebrating Victory Day and congratulating our few stayed in the alive veterans of Great Patriotic War: Michael Milvanov, Valentina Sakharova, Semen Strijevsky, Victor Pochenigin, Sara Rubina.

Our historian - Hana Lobchenko prepared the story on a theme "Unknown about known war". The theme had caused the large interest of the visitors and smoothly developed into discussion. Our veterans addressed to youth, with the request very accurately concern to the modern literature, which tells about war and not always has authentic sources. But absolutely all resolutely said that we have no the moral right to forget events of bygone days, should know and remember them that it would never repeat.

Not all veterans could come in Community Center and consequently on a threshold of holiday our youth visited those who not sparing their life had protected our Motherland and resulted it in a Great Victory. The guys gave gifts, congratulatory cards, spoke warm words, and in response received huge gratitude and histories of those far terrible times. The guys agreed to meet more often, to visit the veterans and to scoop knowledge of war from the most authentic sources, from eyewitnesses - our veterans!

Long years of life to you, strong health and grateful grandchildren dear veterans!
