One of the most favourite and the most cheerful joint events with Jewish Cultural Center is May Day. Activists of the community and, certainly, employees of Hesed help to spend this holiday.

  Jurts were placed by forces of Assembly on the central square of city, and there were representatives of two Diasporas in each of them. They made exhibition of the attributes, national costumes, books, magazines, newspapers, products of applied art and national dishes. Our neighbors were activists of fledgling Afghani Centre that time.

   Congratulations were said from a stage in all languages then mayor delegation of region, of its assistants and chairmen of centers went to get acquainted with the made out and colorfully decorated expositions. Having come up to the Jewish Centre, the attention of mayor was involved by the Torah, newspapers "Shalom" and "Davar", unusual box of matzo and national dish - paste from a liver, forshmak, and wonderfully made out stuffed fish. All this was prepared by culinary club: Luba Levkovich, Valya Ivanova, Luda Feshina, Nadya Bikova.


   Having studied an exhibition closely, the visitors tasted matzo and took the newspapers that to get acquainted with life of the Jews of Kazakhstan better.

   Melodies and ringing voices sounded in all languages from the stage - they gave with vocals. Marina Anuhovskaya and Kate Kubakaeva executed song "Shalom", and dance school collective of national revival #17 executed dance "Hava nagiva".

  Crowds went by an interminable stream to the square, and it was pleasant that the Jewish exposition, as well as others, involved attention and caused interest of public.

  We have made friends with the neighbors - Afghani Centre, everyone tasted Afghani pilau and other dishes, in response, everyone was treated by matzo and stuffed fish.

  This day you understand never better, how it is important to keep the world and how it is perfectly - clean sky, bright sun, and it would be so always!
