Jews are living in Georgia more than two and a half of thousand years and keep their traditions. The epochs, public device, the governors changed, but the people of this country rendered and render support to the Jews invariable. Here in communist totalitarianism years the letter of 18 Georgian Jews was written and it became the starting mechanisms of mass repatriation to Israel. Significant quantity of the Georgian Jews live in Israel today, basically in Ashkelon and Ashdod, They keep their originality and fidelity to the native land. The participants of joint diplomatic mission of the Euro-Asian Jewish congress (EAJC) and presidents of the main Jewish organizations of USA visited Tbilisi from February 13 till February 17 spoke about it. Hundred chiefs from Europe, Asia and America met the president of Georgia Michael Saakashvili, speaker of parliament Nino Burganadze, Prime Minister Lado Gugienidze.

The visitors were charmed by talk with the Patriarch of Georgia Ilya II. The general secretary of EAJC Michael Chlenov handed memorable gift to head of the Georgian church, having appreciate highly merits in strengthening friendship of the Georgian and Jewish peoples.

In honour of visit of the representative delegation led by the president of EAJC Alexander Mashkevich the president Michael Saakashvili gave state reception, on which, as well as in other measures of mission, the president of Association of the Kazakhstani Jewish organizations "Mitsva" and member of general council of EAJC Alexandr Baron took part. The mission continued the work in Jerusalem.
