On the 10 May 2009, "Rimon" conducted a Makkabiada dedicated to the Day of Victory. The Community Centre believes in the significance of sports, and places a strong importance on it while working with the youth. For the Jewish people the spiritual and the physical strength are of equal importance. The Sports club of "Rimon" welcomes everyone.

The Makkabiada was attended by approximately 30 competitors who were split into three teams. One team consisted of teenagers, the other two teams were slightly older. There was also a large team of supporters, which consisted of friends and parents.

The volleyball competition took place in a gymnasium, where all teams played each other. The youth will remember this event in terms of excitement of the competition and of satisfaction in doing their favourite activities. There were no losers. Good mood and physical form were the best prizes for the participants. When the games finished, all the competitors received prizes and participation certificates.

The organiser of the sports club Ruslan Archakov said, "The Jewish Community Centre "Rimon" spends an enormous amount of effort to ensure that the youth plays enough sports and receives appropriate physical exercise. The sports develop the children’s skills to work in a team, their social skills and their development of identity."

The games which were dedicated to the Victory were named "Makkabiada" in memory of the Jewish Commander Ieguda Makkavey.
