Children's Initiative is one of the charitable programmes of Hesed "Polina" and its primary goal is care of children from the socially disadvantaged families.

According to urban standards the Polovinko is a large family. There are five children: thirteen-year-old Oleg, ten-year-old Polina, six-year-old Georgiy, four-year-old Neonila and two-year-old Olga. Children in this family are not only orderly and well-groomed; they all have their personal uniqueness. The Mother, Marina Shanduro, utilizes developing games with the youngest and studies English with the school children. A lot of attention is paid to each child in the family and each one of them is treated as an individual.

Hesed "Polina" decided to make a gift to this particular family. A computer becomes a vital necessity nowadays and it is important to begin mastering computer skills while still at school. It is a pity that not every child has such an opportunity today.

When a computer was brought in Gosha reached for the disk "Moses on the Land of Egypt" which was presented to him two years ago during the Passover celebration at the Jewish Community Centre "Rimon". It was very touching to see that the child kept this CD without having a chance to play it. Now the children of the Polovinko family will help Moses to lead the Jewish people out of Egypt.
