On the 18th of May the Republican Jewish Library hosted a literary lounge. The meeting turned out to be surprisingly warm and informal. An old friend Mikhail Efimovich Zeltser, the doctor of medical sciences and professor of endocrinology visited us to introduce his new book "The Wooden Album". The writer Adolf Artsishevskiy said in the announcement that "... through these verses we discover the world of poetic metaphors and associations which stimulate our imagination, give us wisdom, something that we lack at times in an era of rapid computer hustle and bustle".
The author always writes about the issues that excite and inspire him. New book includes heartfelt lyrics, philosophical reflections and wonderful quatrains, full of love to life and nature. There and then there is a presence of Michael Efimovich's long-standing fascination of dry tree brunches which he brings from everywhere. Not everyone has the ability to see the remarkable things in an ordinary piece of dry wood at first sight. "The Wooden Album" is not just rhymed lines; it is the poetry of roots and twigs. Mysterious curvatures of branches and roughness of wood bark come alive and create images of Aphrodite emerging from the sea foam, Mephistopheles, a rare flower, a medieval castle or the dancing Terpsichore …
This is the third book of poet and prosaic Mikhail Zeltser. Jewish library continuously acquaints the readers with the latest books.
