On the 20th of March the Jewish Community Centre "Rimon" organised a creative dialogue between a well-known Kazakhstan surrealist Yuriy Zobak and the youth. Three generations of the youth club took part in the informative interview with this remarkable artist.
The exhibition of the master of Kazakhstan surrealism in showroom of Hesed "Polina" was a great gift from the Jewish community to everyone who is interested in art. The youth, not indifferent to the artist's creative talent, met here. The visitors particularly liked a painting called "Shlyoma goes to Pesach celebration", where an enthusiastic Shlyoma, resembling the artist’s image, goes up the flight of stairs made of Matzah to the radiant future.
The communication was informal and some thirty people showed a vivid interest in a history of creation of these amazing paintings, which can be viewed perpetually. Many different questions were asked, but Yuriy said that there were two questions which any audience would be interested in: "Why are there so many balls?" and "Why the characters of the pictures look a lot like the artist’s image?"
Yuriy Zobak talked about the years of training, about his searchers and findings, achievements and difficulties. He said that he started to paint in this style before he saw reproductions of Salvador Dali's artworks and that ever since he cannot stop the urge to create.
The interview was interesting to everyone. In the end of the event Yuriy thanked the community centre and its director Inessa Chugainova for the meeting.
