The presentation of Sagindyk Uryntaev’s book "Jews" was held in Kostanay provincial library named after Lev Tolstoy. The author, a man with an active life position and extraordinary personality, is a well-known regional writer. He was a head of "Kazakh language" society for two decades and published few books in his native language. This makes his studies of traditions of one of many other ethnicities living in the territory of Kazakhstan, the Jews, even more significant.
In his book Uryntaev writes about Jews whom he knew and worked with and those who he was lucky to have as teachers at the famous "Timiryazev Academy". He also talks about other Jewish people who have left a noticeable trace in world history. The book contains a lot of information on number of Jews in different countries, languages they speak, Judaism and traditions. There are even some recipes of national cuisine and amusing jokes. But the given edition is not a scientific work. This is the book about people, their mutual relations and ability to live in harmony. It contains ideas of tolerance and respect for different cultures.
The book is written with love for people. It teaches us how to listen and hear, and to appreciate best traditions in every culture. A scientist from Kostanay Vladimir Iosifovich Gershun said at the presentation: "There is one nation on the Earth- Human and one religion- Love. Thanks to Sagindyk Mukashevich from all the community for his work, for a kind gift to Jews. Not many regions have similar books".
Everyone who arrived to the presentation to become acquainted with the new publication noted that the author accomplished great work on the collection of the material. It is known that Uryntaev is a frequent visitor of the Jewish community who celebrates traditional holidays, reads Torah, goes to synagogue and talks to rabbis. Boruh Gorin, one of the leaders of the Federation of the Jewish Communities of the CIS, has presented Sagindyk Uryntaev with a theological book and made an inscription: "As a sign of deep respect for your interest in Jewish traditions and in memory of our friendship".
The songs in Hebrew were sung by Anastasiya Palant, Vadim Chashkov and Vladimir Aleksanin at the presentation. At the end of the event the 70-year-old author of the new book about Jews wished … to perform a dance "Seven forty ". He danced with a lot of youthful enthusiasm accompanied by a roar of applauses.
