On the 1st of June children arrived to Hesed "Rachel" to celebrate the first day of Summer! There were loads of work to do during the school year, but everyone moved to the next grade and passed examinations successfully. The children were active participants of community events, festivals and competitions conducted by the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan; they became Diploma recipients of a Youth clubs festival and won the first place in a competition "Young leader". The vocal group "Anavim" and the choreographic group "Mazal" successfully performed at various occasions, and the children's vocal collective "Tapuah" made its first appearance at community concerts. The holiday began with musical congratulations. Kids from the band "Tapuah" demonstrated their skills by performing Jewish songs, and adolescents staged the fairy tale "Little Red Riding Hood" in a modern interpretation. The congratulations were carried out wonderfully well!

   Four teams, which included children from 3 to 18 years of age, participated in cheerful games and intellectual contests. In a "Russian language" competition, the children made words from the letters contained in a phrase "Shalom, Summer", whilst a literary challenge included making verses about the warmest season of the year. And what a fantasy our children demonstrated in creating human shapes consisting of geometric figures for the mathematical competition!

  The jury was pleased with the contest "Our history" where children talked about the Jewish holidays. They proved themselves to be experts of the traditions and earned additional marks. Surprisingly, the commands in which there were more little ones won the competition.

  The holiday was finally concluded with the celebratory tea accompanied by cake and ice cream! This is how our children met the beginning of the summer, a lot of which they will spend in the hospitable Jewish house - Hesed "Rachel".
