Shvat 15 all Jewish people celebrate Tu-bi-Shvat (New Year of trees or Birthday of a tree). At this time trees of Israel begin to return to life after winter, now for them again comes the flowering time.
Recently, when the country began to become more and more covered by trees - holiday Tu-bi-Shvat found new sense, now it is "Day of protection of nature ", and all week, on which turns out a holiday - "Week of protection of nature". Allover the country plant trees it became tradition of generations, as a symbol of rooting in Eretz Israel.
Well and we, in Diaspora, celebrating this holiday, carry out tradition symbolicalally - we plant window plants because at us out of window is February, minus thirty degree of frost and our trees still continue sleeping.
In Hesed, as always cosy and heat, on tradition the parents with children gathered, the table with seven obligatory fruits of Eretz Israel is laid. Children prepared verses on a theme of Tu-bi-Shvat and songs devoted to this day. The guys with interest participated in Quiz having surprised the adults by knowledge in Hebrew of the names of plants and fruits, parts of a tree. Most active: Xenia Slavutskaya, Kristina Bugayeva, Vitya and Nastya Bychkovs, Natalie and Julia Druchinins at the end of a holiday planted flowers in flowerpots which have signed with their names in Russian and Hebrew.
The holiday turned out cheerful and on - family warm.
