"FREILEHE KINDER" IN ALMATY

Almaty 11.11.10

The Final round of the quiz "From Time Immemorial" gathered the quiz winners in Almaty. They were joined by Almaty and Karaganda activists of the Freilehe Kinder Festival. Children and young people will long remember the Jewish holidays spent in the Samal Resort. The concert "The Festival is All Over the Country" has become the culmination of all interesting events held during this autumn vacation.

Kazakhstan's International Festival "Freilehe Kinder" gathers Jewish creative teams every year in Karaganda. This is a very nice holiday that we want to share to show what our children have achieved. On November 11, singing and dancing groups "Anahnukan", "Yahalom", "Yonati" and "Ethele", "Malyavka" and "Prahim" performed at the Palace of Schoolchildren.

The concert was opened by the performance of a Kazakh dance by girls from Anahnukan group. Then Irina Kozhanovskaya, Director of the Freilehe Kinder Festival thanked the sponsors Joint Committee, the Eurasian Jewish Congress, Mitzvah Association and spoke about Kazakhstan, about the Jewish Festival of children's creativity and noted, "Today we have a wonderful event - the festival went beyond Karaganda. You will see only a small part of what was presented at the festival in the summer."

The Guests were welcomed by President of Mitzvah Association Alexander Baron, "We live in an amazing time in a wonderful country. Children in ethnic centers have an excellent opportunity to learn their native language, perform songs and dances of their peoples. I want to thank everyone who has put efforts in the creation of this festival of Jewish culture - our "inspirers" Alexander Abramovich, Tatiana Slivinskaya with the team, Irina Kozhanovskaya with the team and Inessa Chugainova with the team. Thanks to such people we move forward and build our future."

The winners of the contest "From Time Immemorial" were invited on stage to be awarded with prizes. Accompanied by a storm of applause, Paulina Semenova from Almaty, Ekaterina Chernova from Karaganda and Alexander Tselovalnikov from Pavlodar were awarded with new laptops.

The concert began. One brilliant performance was followed by another. There were songs in Hebrew, Yiddish, Kazakh, Russian, and English. Ethnic costumes added to the great effect of the enthusiastic dancing. And then the moment came when all the performers and their supervisors came on stage together - a little sad moment of parting. There was a well disserved applause. I would like to thank all those who organized this festival including the sponsors and those who invested their hard work and the soul. Thank you!
