Every week in the Jewish Community Center Rimon we conduct Kabbalat Shabbat for the staff, children, youth, and families. Everybody can come over to practice the Jewish traditions and meet Saturday.

Exploring new working methods is always important for the Community Center. This time we decided to meet Shabbat together with the children from the Children Initiative Program.

Sonya Isakova and Zhenya Povolotskaya lit Shabbat candles and recited a prayer. Vova Korzhikov read a blessing for wine. Volunteer Yuliya Davydovna Golandskaya told the guys about Shabbat. They were listening very attentively holding their breath. Then, of course, there was a feast with fruits, deserts, and ice cream.

Children Initiative is a Program that supports children in low income families but the Program’s spiritual contribution is much more important than the financial. We hope it will help our kids grow up as real Jews.
