HOW WE SPENT OUR VACATION

Almaty 18.11.10

From the 6th to 8th of October, the Day Center clients and volunteers, in total forty people, went on vacation and for a medical treatment to Ardager Resort. There were two supervisors accompanying us - Natalia Solomonovna Kriventsova and Inna Borisovna Enina.

We were friendly met and accommodated in clean, spacious rooms. Physician Nina Vladimirovna Davidovich examined each person, checked the heart, measured blood pressure and prescribed each person a medical treatment. Everybody was prescribed a different treatment such as a massage, magnets on feet, herbal inhalation, physiotherapy, shungite, and herbal tea.

We had several cultural events. On the evening of humor we were telling Jewish jokes. Sang Jewish songs. Dalina Suvorova told us about a healthy lifestyle. We went for walks to breath the wonderful pine air. Attended medical gymnastic hall. The food was of high quality and very diverse - vegetables, fruits, dairy products.

On Friday we were visited by Alexander Baron and Inessa Chugainova. They presented gratitude certificates to the most active members of the community. Then there was a big concert. We are very pleased with the vacation and the treatment in the Ardager Resort. We got a lot of energy. It felt so good to be together, we became even closer friends. Many thanks to the leaders of our Jewish community for taking care of us. We will always remember the days in Ardager Resort with joy and gratitude.

Lenina Matlina, Daycare Centre Client

I would like tell you about the last event held by Hesed "Polina" for volunteers and clients of the Day Center - a three-day vacation in Ardager Resort. The vacation was a great success thanks to the efforts of its organizers: Inna Enina, Galina Lipker, and Natalia Kriventsova. What a great number of things they had to take care of on the day of arrival - accommodate everybody in the rooms, inform about the daily routine and activities. And it paid off handsomely - the vacation turned out wonderful!

Ardager offers many different therapeutic procedures. We rarely have this opportunity, and everyone tried to take as many treatment procedures as possible, but despite this we had plenty of time for cultural activities, recreation and socializing. On the first day we had an evening of humor. Lenina Matlina, Galina Lipker, Natalia Kriventsova and volunteers told Jewish jokes. Everybody had a lot of fun!

On the second day there was an interesting lecture on longevity presented by Dalina Suvorova and a movie. After dinner we had dance parties held together with other Ardager vacationers, singing contests, and choral singing in Russian and Kazakh languages.

On the third day we had guests: Alexander Baron, Inessa Chugainova, and the guys from the youth club of the Jewish Community Center "Rimon" who pleased us with singing and dancing in colorful costumes. Then Alexander Baron congratulated us on the long-awaited vacation, gave each volunteer a certificate of honor and thanked for their voluntary work. The volunteer choir sang Jewish songs, everybody else was singing along in unison.

And later we met the Shabbat with candles, a prayer, and hala. On the same evening we congratulated our favorite "the leader of" volunteers - Inna Enina on her birthday. She enjoys the affection and respect of not only volunteers but also of all the visitors of Hesed "Polina" because of her friendly attitude towards people, her organizational talent and being always active.

Our vacation was very interesting, diverse and educational. I would like to express my gratitude to Director of Hesed "Polina" Inessa Chugainova and all the organizers of our holiday. It would be great to have such events regularly.

Ludmila Pyatigorets, Volunteer
