Hesed Polina celebrated the Medical Professionals Day. This is an honorable profession and our medical volunteers are the best manifestations of this fact. Our Medical Program Volunteers gathered at a laid table in Hesed Polina on June 23. These are all noble, very intelligent and decent people.
Director of the Medical Program Sima Branovich opened the event, "Today we have invited the most active volunteers. We are very glad to see you here. We have also invited our young volunteer doctors but they were not able to come due to previously made commitments. I hope they will join us the next time. I congratulate us with our professional holiday! Thank you for what you are doing for our community!"
President of Mitsva Association Alexander Baron also welcomed the guests. He is also a medical doctor by his profession, an anesthesiologist with a 30-year experience. He said, "It is very good that we can meet in our Jewish home, take care of each other. It is very nice to see here my fellow students and colleagues. My dear friends and colleagues, it is so important for our traditions to have people who could voluntarily give out their skills and time." Then he said to his co-student, "Do you remember how we were copying, writing by hand "Babiy Yar" in 1996. At that time we also knew who we were! It is been a long time and we have created our mutual house for all Jews! God save you!"
Hesed Director Inessa Chugainova also thanked the medical doctors, "I would like to congratulate people of the most honorable profession. You are also our volunteers. The doctor cures, takes pain away, saves. The volunteer provides self-less service to the community. When these two notions coincide, we can be only grateful for that and bow our heads. Thank you for your kindness!"
Director of the Volunteer Program Inna Enina said, "Thank you for the immense benefits you are brining to the community. Every day volunteer doctors receive patients in Hesed and in the city hospitals. We are proud of you. There was not a single time when volunteers rejected our request to see a patent. When a person is born he is met by medics. Each of us has used their knowledge and kindness. We wish you good health!"
Our children’s singing groups "Prahiam" and "Anukhnukhan" came to congratulate our medical volunteers. Songs in Hebrew and Yiddish made our celebration memorable. Then
Retro Club 7:40 also sang a song that they have written themselves in honor of our doctors and nurses. The guests were happy to sing together to the well-known melodies. It was an improvised concert where everybody was performing.
We are proud of our volunteers. They are the essence and support of our community. These people saved many lives. Their philanthropy gives them strength at any age to live and to help people.
