On July 19-24 nine young families went for a holiday at Kapchagay and invited a few teenagers who had performed exceptionally well at Freilehe Kinder Festival. The Yong Family Program has been working in the Jewish Community Center for several years. It unites children and parents, resurrects Jewish traditions, and helps in difficult life situations. The members of this club like to have time together, often in the country. Organizing trips for the whole families is one of the important club’s working activities.

Every day was interesting and educational. Every day "an hour of Jewish story" was held in the camp. Both children and adults listened with great attention to well-prepared Olga Drobnohod. The wise Midrash was always interesting to the Jews.

All together we met Shabbat. The girls laid the tables. There was a good family atmosphere, lit candles, Kiddush, blessing on bread. Our traditional Jewish values are equally important to children and parents.

The video club arranged viewing of program movies in very a convenient way. The DVDs with movies "Father" and "Fanatic" were viewed at the rooms at convenient time. After watching we had a discussion. The movie "father" caused different emotions in this audience of mixed ages. Everybody compared the main character’s life credo with his/her personal vision. We discussed the existing children-parents relations. It is important to have such discussions. The "Fanatic" movie also caused heated discussions but the conclusion made was the following: we should not betray the faith of our fathers.

What talented people we have! The competition of the Club of Cheerful and Witty was a great fun! Different families united in four teams. It was amazing to see how witty and talented their jokes and sketches were.

Origami was everybody’s favorite activity. People in our resort were delighted to see our exhibition of paper figures.

Fresh air inspires productive thinking. That’s why we played chess. But this intellectual game was not our only sport. The Supervisor of the sports section Ruslan Archakov organized Makkabiada on the beach - running in bags, tug-of-war, hoops, jumping ropes, and different ball games. First-time yachtsmen tried themselves in catching the Kapchagay wind in sail.

The party on the last day was the best part of our holiday. Hesed Director Inessa Chugainova thanked everybody for their skills not only to work but also to relax and presented the activists with gifts.
