September 22 is the Languages Day in the Republic of Kazakhstan. National cultural centers - the Jewish, Tajik, Turkish, Ukrainian, and high schools students of Almaty gathered at the city library of Begalin for the celebration of friendship on September 24.

Each cultural center presented national costumes, music, and household items. Jewish Community Center "Rimon" delighted everybody with a dance of Mediterranean Sephards, a medley of Jewish songs and an exhibition of children's books, including the alphabet and samples of writing in Hebrew - because it was the Languages Day!

Director of Hesed "Polina" Inessa Chugainova told about the Jewish community that we are friends with many ethnical cultural centers and are always tolerant. The Day of Languages - is another demonstration of friendship.

To make the celebration memorable, the Library presented all communities, including ours, with cognitive games, magazines, gift editions of the books - "Altyn Orda" V-XV Century, "Kerei and Zhanibek", "Rites and Traditions of Peoples of Kazakhstan" and many others.

The Library has remarkably organized the Day of Languages. Especially interesting was the parade of proverbs. The wisdom of every nation, as in a mirror, is reflected in its proverbs and sayings. A proverb in one language always has a similar proverb in another language. At the celebration, proverbs sounded in all languages.

Such cognitive activities introduce children to the culture and languages of other peoples, expand horizons, teach the value of interpersonal and inter-ethnic communication and provide an opportunity to show your people cultural traditions.
