On April 29 the Jewish Community Center Rimon participated in the celebration of the Unity day of the Kazakhstan People. The event was named "Language is the Foothold of Friendship".
First of May is the Unity Day of the People of Kazakhstan. On its eve, participants of the holiday concert gathered in the Writers’ Union building along with city community representatives. The event was opened by the Head of the Administration of Languages Development Mamai Akhmetov, "We are happy to meet with you. Friendship and people’s consent is our main value. I congratulate everyone on the 65th anniversary of the Great Victory and the Unity Day of the Kazakhstan People."
The concert began with a Kazakh dance performed by Asel Kazhakhmetova. The graceful girl finished her dance with a spectacular Kazakh national ceremony "shashu": showered the guests with candies to wish everybody happiness.
Many ethnical centers made their performances including Afghan Center "Ariana", Jewish Community Center "Rimon", Korean Cultural Center, Kurd Cultural Center, Polish Cultural Center, Tadjik Cultural Center "Avitsena", Turkish National Center "Akhyska", Turkmen Cultural Center, Chechen-Ingush National Center Vainakh. The ethnical centers presented their dances, sang songs of different people of the world, and recited poems in different languages about friendship.
The concert culmination was at the moment when all performers came out on the stage. Organizers awarded the representatives of ethnical centers with letters of gratitude for their promotion of unity and friendship in Kazakhstan, and concert participants were awarded with souvenirs.
The event ended with the Kazakhstan state anthem.
