"The soul of man is the fire lit by God" is written in the Torah. Like the fire that warms and illuminates everything around us, we can fill life with warmth and light being guided by the spiritual. Look at the candle flame and see the hope for a brighter future based on our spiritual!



Hanukkah came! Children, their mothers and fathers gathered in Hesed Astana. Director Elena Levina warmly welcomed the guests and spoke about the history of the holiday. It was very interesting. Everybody joined in with the slogan: "We are happy with you, Hanukkah! Hanukkah!"



Elena Levina summed up the Republican contest "From Time Immemorial" and congratulated the winners and participants. The kids were awarded with certificates and gifts from Astana sponsors. Well done!



We had educational contests and games, songs and dances. One of the customs of this holiday is "Hanukkah Gelt" when children are given money as a gift. Oh, how our children fond of this tradition are!



There was a great smell of fried donuts in our Hesed! After the games and contests, children and adults were tired but happy. All together we sat at the table with latkes and donuts. Fun, joy and laughter! How great it is that we are all together here today!
