The Jewish Community of Karaganda is actively involved in the the city and regional events. We support all activities aimed at uniting all ethnicities living in the republic. It enriches us and makes us really involved in the development of the Kazakhstan society.

The Day of languages of the people of Kazakhstan was celebrated in Karaganda for a whole week. It was nice to see the diversity of cultures and customs of different ethnic groups of the republic. International concerts with bright costumes, amazing music, choreography, and a variety of languages are interesting for viewers of all generations.

This year children from the Jewish Community Center "Shemesh" participated in several events on this holiday. Our guys performed in various organizations of the city together with creative teams of other national-cultural centers. One of our holiday concerts was attended by soldiers of military unit 6505. Children from kindergarten "Tansholpan" attended the performance of the smallest artists from the community. Kids really enjoyed the performance of our stars - Sofa Revenko, Lisa Skoda, Violeta Popova, whose cheerful songs in Hebrew and Yiddish were accompanied by prolonged applause. The girls also took part in a large regional concert held in the hall "Nur-Otan".

Such activities help children from an early age to understand different cultures and, more importantly, to develop in themselves and others the love, respect, and interest to the national heritage of their people. This is the primary task of all ethnic centers and our "Shemesh" is no exception.
