May 1st is a holiday of Kazakhstan’s Peoples Unity. Jewish Community Center and Hesed Efraim actively participated in the city celebration events.

We have demonstrated our art works to the guests: handicrafts made of salty dough, watercolor and pencil drawings, pictures made of beads, mosaic and many other things.

We organized a booth of Jewish attributes - menorah, shofar, hannukiya, books from the community library. The booth was very popular with general public.

And of course, everybody was attracted by the table with traditional national cuisine dishes: chicken made in Jewish style, kosher wine, fruits, and matzo. Nobody refused to be treated with such meals!

The delegation led by North Kazakhstan Region Akim Serik Belyalov was met by singing group "Shalom" dressed in ethnical costumes and by young people from the Jewish Center. All together we greeted the guests, "Shalom!" and sang "Eivenu shalom aleikhem".

People were having fun all day at the square - there were many songs, dancing, and impressive national cuisines. Many people will have good memories of this Peoples Friendship Holiday.
