In spring we have many holidays, both national and Jewish holidays. This year we have particularly thoroughly prepared for the Victory Day. We invited veterans of the home front well in advance. Unfortunately, there are no Veterans of the Great Patriot War left in our Jewish Community. But there are solders’ wives, daughters and sons who were working in the home front 20 hours a day to promote the Victory as much as possible.
Hesed Efraim Administration, Community Board, and members of tsdaka commission came together to congratulate our clients – veterans of the home front. Hesed volunteers, Lyudmila Feshina and Valentina Ivanova, prepared gifts for the veterans – beautiful tea sets, colorful holiday cards and the kindest words of gratitude. Yuriy Yudayev, Chairman of the Community, presented active members of the community and volunteers with some financial remuneration in honor of the Victory Day.
Sitting at the feast table veterans were recollecting their war years, their friends and relatives, and sang our favorite songs. The holiday ended and it was time to go home. In good mood and with sparkling eyes our veterans continued talking on the way home, telling each other about their life experiences with light sadness…
Thank you, our dear Veterans, for you work and heroism!
