FAMILY CAMP IN "ABAKSHINO"

Petropavlovsk 17.07.10

On July 14 members of the Jewish Community of Petropavlovsk went to the resort place "Abakshino" under the Family Camp Program.

Everybody was delighted to take the trip. It is a chance to get to know each other, find new friends and have a good rest. We invited new members of our community to help them become a part of our team and learn about Jewish traditions. Of course, our children were absolutely happy about the trip. They were looking forward to going to the zoo in Abakshino, swim and sunbathe in the water park, play games.

We were accommodated in very nice rooms and went to look around the place. Abakshino is a very beautiful resort. There are many amazing birds and animals here - peacocks, chinchilla, guinea fowl, pheasant, and goats. There is a big water park and many play grounds for children.

We had a good time. Children and adults swam in Ishim river, sunbathed, played team building games. One of such games was a quiz "Funny Jewish Questions" - the teams competed with each other to demonstrated knowledge of Jewish traditions. The Druchinins family won the competition.

We certainly met Saturday. It was great - our children Yulya Bychkova and Yaroslav Pilzak recited prayers and lit the candles according to the tradition. All together we sang Shabbat songs.

Time flew. Nobody wanted to leave. We returned home rested and happy. We were glad to see people’s gratitude. Mother of Katya Bushina came to the community to thank for the trip to Abakshino the Joint Committee, Hesed Efraim, Children Coordinator Yuliya Soroka, Volunteer Darya Makarovskaya. "This is was unforgettable. We became a family, one team. My daughter and I are very grateful to our sponsors for these wonderful days!"
