On May 2nd Hesed Shimon organized a holiday in honor of the veterans of the Great Patriot War and people who worked at the home front during the war. Hesed provided a car to deliver all guests to the celebration. All our guests were in good mood, looked great with their medals on the chests.
Children from the Jewish Community Center made a concert - recited poems and sang songs. The veterans sang along to their favorite songs. It was a very warm friendly atmosphere. Our guests shared their memories of the difficult war years, talked about their comrades-in-arms, and of course drank "battlefield 100 grams of vodka". Everybody was presented with a memory gift. Hesed driver took everybody home. Those who could not attend the event because of bad health were visited and congratulated at home.
The holiday was organized and conducted by Hesed Shimon and its Guardian Board.
