On October 10 at 14-00 the first round of the Republican Contest "From time immemorial ..." was held in Shymkent Hesed. Children were eagerly waiting for the start of the contest. Parents also came to support their children. Director of Hesed Bella Atran interviewed the parents about the quiz.

Nadezhda Kozynko came to support her daughter Irina, "The quiz, held today, was interesting not only for children. Parents also took an active part in it. The questions chosen for each age group at the first round were very interesting and children were happy to answer these questions. We are looking forward to the contest continuation. It will be interesting to know who will make it to the final".

Anna M. Tutushina supported her daughter Lisa, "On 10/10, 2010 the Jewish community in Shymkent conducted a cognitive quiz where children of different ages showed their erudition, knowledge of Jewish history, about the state of Israel and the Jewish holidays. The guys were very interested in this event. Many parents came to cheer up their children and wish them good luck".

Children's Initiative Program Coordinator Irina N. Chibisova brought three girls to the quiz, "Today we had a great event in Shymkent that made us all, both old and young, come together and have a brainstorming session, use our knowledge and skills to answer the quiz questions. The quiz is very informative. Many questions raised doubts, stimulated the participants to dig not only in their minds but also ask for help their teachers of history and tradition Boris Shamuelov and Nikolay Atran, who had worked with the children throughout the year. The goal, of course, is the victory. Hopefully, it will be so".

I would like to note that other parents also came to support their children. They are Natalia Pokachalova, Natalia Bosak, and others.

At the end of the contest, when the answers had already been sent to Pavlodar, we were sitting at one big table and were discussing all the questions and answers with our teachers Boris Shamuelov and Nikolay Atran. Thank you all for participating in the first round. We hope that many of our guys will pass to the second round of the quiz.
