The fourteenth month of Iyar month is the second Passover, so called Passover Sheni. On this holiday God gives Jews one more chance to fulfill their obligation. On this special day, April 27th, members of our community gathered in Taldykorgan Jewish Cultural Center Aviv.

This March President of Mitsva Association, Alexander Baron, visited our community. He brought a wonderful gift - kosher Israeli Mezuzah. On Passover Sheni Eve we all gathered in "Aviv". We recited Jewish prayers. Medical Assistant at the military office Igor Vozchikov, a highly respected member of our community read out the blessing from Sidur "Shma Israel" and attached Mezuzah to the door post. Our hearts were filled with joy. Now every time when we are leaving the Center, we will be under God’s protection.

May 1st is the Unity Day of the Kazakhstan People. On that sunny day a public holiday demonstration took place in Taldykorgan. Jewish Cultural Center "Aviv" was the first march through the city square. All other ethnical centers also participated in the demonstration including Jewish, Korean, Kurd, Tatar, and Chechen centers. This Unity holiday was organized by the Smaller Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan. Many people were carrying its flags.

Akim of Taldykorgan, Serik Abikenovich Umbetov, was at the tribune of the main square. The whole city gathered at the square, this was a real holiday of people’s friendship.
