On March 22 it was nice spring weather in Taldykorgan and city dwellers celebrated the vernal equinox day - Nauryz. All ethno-cultural centers of Almaty region came to the main square of Taldykorgan to provide hospitable reception to city dwellers. Certainly, our Jewish Cultural center Aviv was here as well. For us this holiday is not only a state holiday but it also reflects our spiritual values. President of Mitsva Association was our distinguished guest.

Akim of Almaty Region noted in his speech that he had visited Kyzylagash, devastated by the recent flood, the same day in the early morning. There was a ceremony of sacrificial offering and a large feast table for everybody to make all misfortunes stop and let Nauryz bring luck and happiness to everybody.
