During the summer our children went to the camp organized Hesed, had a tour of a green house with many flowers, and went for a picnic to the country with parents. Our boys and girls visited a museum, winter garden, art gallery, walked around the park, rode their favorite amusements, and of course were getting ready for the Festival of the Jewish Book. The children also attended classes on Jewish Tradition.

We were also lucky to get to the Sengirbay Resort where we had a summer family camp. We had swimming competitions, funny contests, and sports games. The resort, located in the forest, is very beautiful. We lived in a cottage on a lake shore. We had a lot of pleasure in breathing the fresh clean air, listening to singing birds, and were happy to be away from hustle and bustle of the city. Jewish families participated in different contests, quizzes, and parties. Parents were helping to manage the children. Ekaterina Semirechinskaya conducted a game program. She had baked a big cake that served as a prize for everybody after the game was over. Vladimr Dmitriev taught the children to fish correctly, told them stories about fishermen and fishing.

The Family Club organized a camp in the Stroitel Resort. Families from the city and neighboring villages came to the camp. Adults and children made friends and were having a great time all five days and got ready for the Community Festival of the Jewish Book. It is very important that families learned more Jewish traditions, participated in quizzes and competitions. Boys and girls and their parents received health treatment procedures. We gathered children who often get sick. It was very useful for them to have a traditional and under-water massage, circular douche, and oxygen cocktail. Many participants had a psychological therapy. Our Volunteer Svetlana Kou conducted discussions for adults and children on medical topics. Kids were swimming, playing football, tennis, chess, and physical exercises.

It was very important to get ready for the Festival of the Jewish Book. We have put on stage a little performance "Happy Birthday Festival", prepared a dancing program under the supervision of Yaroslava Gvozdevskaya and created wonderful handicrafts made from gypsum. Our rehearsals were visited by many people including disabled people on wheel chairs and mothers with children. Malika Abdulayeva, a Resort employee, asked us to organize a concert for the all Resort participants when she saw what a great interest our rehearsals caused with the audience. Our children were delighted with the idea. Although we had little time to prepare for the concert, the audience not only watched our dancing program but also listened to a presentation about our organization, history of Taraz city and legends about the ancient monument "Tekturmas" located near the Resort.

Our children and parents went to the Kamenskoe Lake many times. There is a mineral spring there and we could relax and improve our health there. We had a great time socializing, making friends, participating in the quiz "Do you know Jewish traditions?", games, and sports competitions.
