The Jewish community of Almaty actively participates in public life of the city and Republic. The May holidays devoted to unity of the people of Kazakhstan became possibility to show indefatigable and fruitful communal work.

At the Forum «20 years of peace and creation» devoted to the twentieth anniversary of Independence of Republic Kazakhstan Jewish community took part with plays specially prepared for a solemn event.

The musical ensemble "Jonati" directed by choreographer Anna Yeremina played three dancing music plays. Performance was accompanied by applause of spectators. Our young men with are training every week and reached almost professional level. The valuable contribution of the Jewish community to the Forum «20 years of peace and creation» has been confirmed by the letter of thanks signed by general director of PF "Ethnos-forum", a member of Assembly of the people of Kazakhstan Gabit Nuradil and the chairman of the board of joint-stock company Pension fund “NefteGazDem” Nurlan Amirzhanov.

And on first of May, day of Unity of the people of Kazakhstan, our Jewish community took part in parade as part of Assembly of the people of Kazakhstan. More than thirty persons participated in the event on Old Square along with representatives of other national communities. There was a president of Association of Kazakhstan Jewish national organizations Alexander Baron, the chairman of the cultural center Alexander Arepev, the director of hesed Inessa Chugainova and the volunteers helping with decoration of celebratory tent Natalia Trohimchuk, Natalia Mahankova, Marina Semenova, Marina Arepeva. Ensembles "Jonati" and "Prahim" appeared on stage, and their dancing number has been highly appreciated by spectators.

The president of Republic Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev declared the motto of 2011 «twenty years of peace and creation». And the Jewish community realizes the motto, constantly participating different actions, and we wish to our country peace, prosperity and well-being.
