One of the biggest and grandiose actions spent by the Jewish community of a city of Almaty and Association of the Jewish communities of Kazakhstan "Mitsva" – volunteer program for students from the USA and Kazakhstan has come to an end.
The whole week students were make friends with each other, have a rest and like culture of both countries, and the most important thing – to make the pivotal precept of a Torah about the help to elderly, to the Jewish national library named after Moris Simashko and to children's camp.
This week was extraordinary sated for the American and Kazakhstan students. They participated in the most various kinds of activity: the help on the house, sometimes worked in a garden; worked with children and together with them showed creative abilities, creating pictures and various hand-made. Participants of the program helped library. Certainly, the Jewish community is grateful to students for this help. And besides work, interesting, unusual, remembered events happen for these seven days – the Day of the First-grader organized by communal center “Rimon” together with participants of the program, walk around the city, work in dancing, art, a photo and musical studio where the creative potential of each participant of the program completely revealed. A hymn has been composed, and the general dance was presented on a final farewell dinner. There was also presentation of the photographic studio with demonstration of all high points of the program.
During a farewell dinner many words of gratitude sounded. Students have told thanks to organizers – to the president of Association of the Jewish organizations of Republic Kazakhstan Alexandr Baron, director of Hesed Inessa Chugainova, Nelly Zaitseva …
In turn, we are grateful to children for all that they have made. Memorable souvenirs, we hope, will be for the American students not only a wonder from far Kazakhstan, but also the symbol of this gratitude.
And thanks to this program which collected thirty persons from several cities of Kazakhstan and the USA, its participants fulfilled Jewish laws on good and the help each other, about a generality of all Jews worldwide, laws of a Torah and the life.
