The non-ordinary action the Almaty Jewish community celebrated the most cheerful holiday – Purim. Instead of less traditional play based on the ancient plot about Ester, tsar Ahashverosh and Aman, the brides contest took place. And the intrigue about the winner was kept till the very end.

Five pretenders from children's club, teenage club, youth club, family club and club «7.40» competed for a “name” of the Ester,and the strict jury helped the "tsar" to estimate not only “brides’” beauty, but also their cooking and talking skills. Pretenders were supported by their clubs who performed songs, dances and plays.

  From more than two hundreds spectators come to look at the competition no one felt bored. The little children were entertained by clowns and there was an art section where children could draw something about Purim. And in order to fulfill Purim’s precepts the hesed’s Culinary club made more than 600 “Aman’s ears” cookies. At the end jury couldn’t manage to choose the Ester but “tsar” made his choice himself. Eliko Chikovani, best of best Ester of a city of Almaty became the winner of competition. Let’s congratulate the winner!

  Purim is not only the holiday of spring and fun but also the day when Jewish nation has been rescued. Every year all the Jewish communities over the world rejoice the victory of out ancestors. And this year each community club of Almaty took their part in the holiday. Thanks to us all for great time!
