PESAH SEDER IN FAMILY

Almaty 20.04.11

Pesah ritual meal is one of the ancient tradition of Jewish people, the symbol of our exodus from slavery and freedom. The head of the program «Children initiative» Zhanna Danilenko trained to make Pesah seder in Polovinko family. «Marina Polovinko is the volunteer and mother of five children. All family wanted very much to feel spirit of the holiday and to meet Pesah as it is necessary», Zhanna Danilenko comments.
All five children were on the seder. Oleg as the full age man by Jewish laws (he’s fifteen), helped to lead to meal, he said blessings on bread and wine. Polina Polovinko has proved the mum's help as she made holiday dishes, put products on keara, asked the traditional questions. Gosha and little sisters Olya and Nelya also tried to remember Pesah’s laws and to ask questions. The little girls lit the candle of Elijah prophet and together took him to the holiday table.
«Now we know how to make seder, and we will manage to do it», Marina Polovinko has thanked. Five children of Marina Polovinko are five future Jewish families. And thanks to communal work, we hope, they will manage to learn to be Jews by the laws of Torah and will manage to impart knowledge to their children. They can continue and store thousand-year tradition and memory.
