June, 22nd is the special date in our history. It is tragic date, the day of beginning of the Great Patriotic War. Seventy years has passed from that day, but we still remember, we honor memory of those who died.
The event devoted to memorial date was visited by children of the summer camp organized by the Jewish community and Hesed’s director Inessa Chugainova and the head of the program «Children's initiative» Zhanna Danilenko.
The president of Association of the Jewish communities Alexandr Baron in his opening address underlined how important for children, the little community members to know about war and to remember what their grandfathers and great-grandfathers had to face, to remember and honor it. The lit candle is a symbol of our memory of the victim and our thanks to all the defenders of our Native land. Specially invited visitor Lubov Koretsky is one of such witnesses, and she told the children how seventy years ago usual summer day has turned to tragedy. She told how her friends and schoolmates went to war and she read verses devoted to the war.
But our children were not only listening. They took the most active part in action. Polina Semenova, Nastya Trohimchuk, Polina Polovinko, Maxim Halturin and Lera Russu went to the improvised stage for reading verses on years of war. They try to understand and realize events of those years. And children from teenage and youth club performed a sad dance symbolizing grief and also hope…
In the Jewish tradition and culture precept «tell to the son» is very serious. And here telling to the children the story of the War, Jewish community express hope that they will remember and won't allow such wars happen again.
