The Jewish community of Almaty continues to celebrate Pesah and teaches the principles and traditions. Children and teenagers, and young people were in the heart of the activities of the Almaty Jewish community center. The “training” seder was organized form them, which, of course didn’t replace the real one but taught the smallest and adult members of the community the correct order and high sense of Pesah.

Программа The program "Children's initiative" seder was lead by Olga Drobnohod who thoroughly explained the little guests of hesed seder’s order. She also told the story of the Egyptian slavery. Of course, most of children, not the first year attending community events, knew what to do with matza and why we need to eat the bitter herbs, but it is written in Torah: even wise men need to talk about the exodus from Egypt. The children listened attentively, asked the "four questions" and added questions "from themselves". Although almost forty people with their parents came to the seder, the atmosphere of coziness and family celebrations remained.

And after the children's seder there was teenagers and youth’s turn. In the hall of the community centre "Rimon" there was no room: sixty-nine people came to participate in the event. But funny jokes and quiz by director of hesed Inessa Chugainova and coordinator Julia Golandskaya managed to get all the attention. In the struggle for the prizes the participants, like little children, pulled the hand and answered the quiz questions. Among the young men there were twenty volunteers. And they received the honorary awards as the activists of communal work. As the sign of gratitude volunteers received memorable badges, and they proudly showed it each other.

At the end “Elijah prophet” came (actually we could see Jacob Lomega’s face under the mask). Each guest made his or her wish of well-being and happiness. And our wishes should come true.
