In the city Astana the celebrating of Hanukkah made in common by a synagogue of a city and Hesed has taken place. In this event more than fifty persons has taken part.

The meeting has begun with traditional Hanukkah meeting in the synagogue where rabbi Shmuel Karnauh has told story of the holiday, traditions of a Hanukkah. Shmuel Karnauh lit traditional candle symbolizing light and hope, freedom and pleasure.

After this the celebratory meal has taken place. The president of Association of Jewish organizations "Mitsva" Alexander Baron has in turn congratulated members of the Jewish community with the holiday, having wished everyone good, heat and light, and certainly, to continue to be a part of a single whole, the Jewish community of the city of Astana and Republic Kazakhstan. Besides, Alexander Baron has highly appreciated the work made by Hesed of the city in the Jewish community. Also there were representatives of consulate of the State Israel in Republic Kazakhstan.

Hanukkah events of the city of Astana, along with similar in other cities of Kazakhstan are the next prove of high level of work of Association "Mitsva", Heseds. And this joint Hanukkah celebration testifies to fruitful interaction of the various Jewish organizations of Republic Kazakhstan.
