The history of Purim remains relevant for all times. Mordechai and Ester symbolizing Torah and the Jewish people give us the chance to think of Jewish nation existence. Like a boomerang returns to Aman his choice to destroy the nation. And people win finally the main prize - the life! "Life becomes marvelous game if you understand that you’re no hero and that the prize is just your live", poet Igor Guberman says. We ask ourselves: do we keep Ester’s prescriptions? They create Purim’s unique celebratory atmosphere into which are dipped both old and young people. We’re together now. We give and receive the gifts, we laughter and make jokes. In the cheerful and witty Purimshpiel evil Aman is punished. And all of us felt as we were those events’ participants.
Hesed’s guest room’s decoration was also specially made for the holiday’s atmosphere. Children’s drawings, aphorisms, wise statements, warm light of candles made it. Nobody was left alone and forgotten and everybody received holiday tasty gifts. It is rather pleasant that visiting a synagogue, participation in the big holiday and quiz became Purim’s tradition. And visiting a synagogue itself and reading Scroll of Ester makes ourselves feel part of the Jewish community. And we also have opportunity to express our feelings and emotions in that day despite of our everyday reality.
