May, 31st is the day of memory of political repressions victims. The art museum invited our children for a lecture devoted to this memorable day. Works of the artists who arrived in Kazakhstan by will of destiny were presented to the children. People of the different trades, different religions, but objectionable to the government were sent from native places to almost unknown Kazakhstan. The hospitable people of the east sheltered thousand immigrants, given to them both a shelter and bread. And for many of them Kazakhstan became their second home.
Only in 90th it was possible to speak about phenomena of the Soviet epoch ignored by an official policy. This page of history of Kazakhstan has been legalized. It is a question of the Stalin reprisals period. Possibly, geopolitical factor became the main things in a choice of Kazakhstan a reference place: remoteness from the central areas of USSR, rich natural resources, huge steppe spaces.
Avantgardists Vera Yermolaeva, Vladimir Sterligov outstanding German artist Henry Fogeler, Japanese Jokojamo Misao, painter Vladimir Eifert, aquarellist Arthur Fonvizin have undergone to reprisals.
Children with a great interest listened to Olga Pashko's story about artists who, despite all vital peripetias, continued to create their remarkable products. And the most important lesson which was acquired by children: never give up.
