On the eve of one of the most important holidays of the year we made in Hesed general cleaning. Also we took to the Jewish families parcel, winter help and of course, matza.
Eden and David from Israel studying now in USA came to us to help to make the holiday. Eden worked in the ambulance, and now is going to go to army. David wants to become a rabbi. All members of the community and Hesed workers remembered English, to make our guests not to feel strangers in our Jewish home.
The first seder was on April 18th. About 40 people came to our hesed. Some of the visitors who made their first seder were a bit worried, because not every day we are meeting with the rabbis. And at the same time it was very interesting and important to be introduced to the traditions. Pesah was made according to koshrut, Eden and David together with volunteers prepared the kitchen for the night before the holiday. Everything started with the lighting of candles by women, and the men that time prayed in the next room. The seder was made traditionally, all read the Haggadah, and after reading the blessing fulfilled all the commandments. There was a friendly, almost family atmosphere. We all sang songs.
The holiday lasted for about 3 hours, but no one was tired, all were enthusiastic and full of appeasement of the holiday.
Continuing the Jewish commandments, our guests visited the Jewish family, which by reason of illness unable to come to the seder. The families warmly greeted the rabbis, told about themselves and asked questions. David and Eden gave them Israeli matza and wished happy Pesah.
I would like to express a huge gratitude to the President of Association "Mitsva", Alexandr Baron Iosifovich, rabbi Shevah Zlatopolsky, Eden and David for the opportunity to make kosher and interesting holiday.
