On Sunday February, 5th in Hesed of Almaty the display of the documentary film devoted to tragedy of the Jewish people, the Holocaust, has taken place. The organizers were Association of the Jewish organizations of Republic Kazakhstan "Mitsva" together with Department of the Public Information of the United Nations. From Association "Mitsva" there was director of Hesed and communal center Inessa Chugainova, the Department of the Public Information of the United Nations was represented by Nazerke Sailaubekova, the assistant of Department.

The film tells about destiny of Jewish boy Peter Ganz whose family lived in Prague and who in spite of the fact that he has been sent to the ghetto, continued to be engaged in creativity, to draw and write. Unfortunately, in the year 1944 he has been sent to Osventsim where he was gone. This story shown is told by the Peter’s sister who lives now in Israel.

The Russian text was read by Vyacheslav Breusov. On the film display there were more than fifty persons of different age – members of Family club, children, teenagers and youth. During half-hour display the audience watched closely. This story has caused a ready response in the hearts of members of a community.

Further cooperation of Association "Mitsva" with Department of the Public Information of the United Nations will be continued; this and other films will be shown to the other members of the Jewish community.
