On February, 14th in the Jewish communal center the event devoted to the 100 anniversary from the date of birth of the Honored worker of arts of Kazakhstan, the artist, the film artist, the prose writer and poet Pavel Zaltsman has taken place.

The event was made by library named after Moris Simashko by director Natalia Kovalenko. More than twenty persons, admirers of creativity of the artist have come to share the memoirs, to discuss a career and to remember Pavel Zaltsman.

The president of Association of Jewish organizations "Mitsva" Alexander Baron in his salutatory word thanked everybody who came noting that the memory of remarkable, talented people remains is live.

"Unfortunately", Alexander Baron said. – «The memory leaves. And our problem is to keep it, not to lose, manage to give it to our children and grandsons».

But this evening thanks to the visitors the memory of the artist has revived. The critic, the art historian Bayan Barmankulova told that exactly Pavel Zaltsman has taught her to feel the art form in all volume. As she has shared memoirs on literary creativity of Zaltsman. «He was interested in the Jewish places and the Kazakh auls. He was able to feel each person as unique», Bayan Barmankulova says about the creativity of the artist and writer.

Member of the Union of artists of Kazakhstan, art critic Valentine Buchinsky more in detail stopped on Pavel Zaltsmana's features of water colors and graphic works, having underlined uniqueness of his style and the importance for art of all XX-th century. The winner of the State award, the art director of a film studio "Kazahfilm" Alexander Rorokin has shared personal impressions about Pavel Zaltsman, as the unique, remarkable person.

The artist has left a huge graphic and picturesque heritage, and now thanks to his children Lotta, Maria and Alena Zuslanovich who live in Israel decoding and the edition of artist’s blockade memoirs proceeds, there are new materials about the artist.

And in Republic Kazakhstan the memory of Pavel Zaltsman stays thanks in no small part to Association "Mitsva". The material about him is included into the calendar «The Well-known Jews of Kazakhstan» which is published by Association. While we remember people, they are still alive. And the remarkable artist is worthy to remember.
