On October 2, 2005 the Jewish community of Almaty celebrated Rosh Hashana. The city event was held in the Uigur Theatre of Music Comedy with about 600 visitors.
The celebration was held by the Hesed "Polina" with the help of Jewish and non-Jewish organizations of the city.
