Seminar-debate
for Kazakhstan Hesed and JCC directors. As usually in the beginning of
the year, its aim was to sum up the results of 2003 and work out a plan
for future.
The
seminar lasted for three days. 22 representatives of 14 cities came to
participate in it. The seminar was headed by the Hesed "Polina"
director Natalya Dorman.
During the meeting the community leaders discussed their everyday
problems and difficulties. Most of them were solved together. Experienced
directors shared their skills with newcomers.
Special
consideration was given to the development of a new children's program
"Etgar". It is meant for social protection of children and their
parents. "Etgar" is a welfare program that will provide social
and medical assistance to children and teenagers under 16 years old.
The
heads of the Hesed "Polina" program also participated in the
debates. For example, Kazakhstan auditor Valery Berkman shared his view
on the city development problems and perspectives of Hesed on Wheels program.
The chief accountant Yanna Papanova informed on the changes the Hesed
budget and reporting procedures. The head of information department Galina
Chelokhsayeva offered to analyze 2003 statistical report of the "Mitsva"
member organization's activities. Thus, the leaders had an opportunity
to look at their work in the community form the outside.
The directors have returned home to apply the gained knowledge
in practice.
