Rosh-ha-Shannah always means apples and honey,
Pesach - matzoh, Purim - triangle pies called "Haman's
ears", and what about Hanukah? Hanukah is impossible without latkes
and doughnuts! That is why the festive meeting of Kokshetau "Tsimes"
culinary club was dedicated to preparing the traditional meals.
The
head of the club told its members the history of Hanukah. Then the women
discussed the way the festive table had to be laid on the last day of
Hanukah. Before the end of the meeting the women shared receipts of their
favorite Jewish dishes.
The Hesed director Anatoliy Itkin who also visited the club
meeting congratulated the women and lit one more candle in the hanukiah.
