 On
January 16 members of the Open Home met in Hesed Efraim. This program is not
new for Kazakhstani Hasadim; it became an integral part of the community life.
Members of the Open Home can not part with culture, Tradition, and history of
their people.
Every meeting of the Open Home is a thoroughly prepared and skillfully
organized festival. To carry the members away and to inspire them with a desire
to learn and create - it is one of the talents of Open Home employees.
They try to make every meeting unforgettable. And they do. How? They simply
can understand those who come to them. And the ides occur as if by themselves.
The themes discussed in the meetings are not always joyful. This time we decided
to look back at the dreadful past of the Jews in the USSR. I, JCC librarian
Igor Zhigarlovsky read a report on the subject "50 Days since Execution
of the Jewish Antifascist Committee". 13 shot people and those who did
not last till execution stood before the members' eyes. "We did not forget
you, heroes!"
