The
closing day of OFEK 2003 was conducted in the local Museum of Arts. There
was a presentation of pictures by Sergey Reichenberg, Abraham Cherkassky,
and Emilia Babad. Thanks to OFEK the members of Petropavlovsk community
saw the paintings that had been kept in the museum storerooms for a long
time.
The
artists made a great contribution in the culture of North-Kazakhstan region.
He had been working in the local drama theatre as a chief painter for
many years. Abraham Cherkassky's landscapes reflected his romantic perception
of the nature. Emilia Babad's main genre was still life. That kind of
painting in her pictures was as deep and interesting as other genres.
Besides
for the pictures, the guests were presented an exposition of Jewish articles
and rare books. There were the Torah, Babylonian Talmud, and books from
the series of Jewish studies.
Petropavlovsk says goodbye to OFEK 2003 and greets the new Festival of
the Jewish Book.
