children's club continues preparing to Tu B'Shevat. During their last
meeting in the paint shop the children were drawing the seven kinds of
plants and grains necessary for the New Year of Trees.
After the paint shop the JCC director Marina Sommerfeld told
the children about Tu B'Shevat and the way other Jewish communities celebrate
it. She explained that Tu B'Shevat is a festival of joy and light, when
the land of Israel begins bringing harvest.
On February 8, in the morning the children will give their
parents the drawings. And in the evening the families will come to the
JCC to plant seeds into flowers pots.
