STARS BECOME CLOSE

Almaty 11.04.2005

A new idea was born in Almaty Jewish community center. Now creative people, romantic persons and dreamers gather in "Rimon" to talk with celebrities about art. The first of them became a famous Kazakhstani film producer Igor Gonopolskiy.

"An advertisement about the beginning of "Oeuvre meetings" was hanging for only one day", tells Evgeniya Tryshkova, a hall's leader, "so, only few people could learn about it. Anyway, at least 20 people came. And it is a good start."

The evening on the subject "Cinema art in the XXI century" was a success. The film director brought a movie about himself from a series "Fate line", and invited his friend from cinema society Lavrentiy Son.

Though, at first, guests were constrained and the meeting was like a press-conference, soon the situation diffused. "At the end the guests even drank coffee together with Gonopolskiy. There was a free discussion. That was exactly what I wanted", says Evgeniya, "the main thing I tried to do is to get rid of the officious".

But, the other thing failed. The initial idea was a little bit another. She dreamt of creation a club with a name "Art-café", but not a hall. Dreamt of making an interior of 1930-40-ies with glasses of champagne on the tables, covered with white table-clothes. And a semi-darkness is all-around. This still, is only a dream.

And one more thing, Evgeniya viewed young generation of the community as her guests. But life made her own amends. The first "Oeuvre meeting" was attended by active JCC members. Most of them are elderly people, taking part in many other meetings held in the center. The next evening of "Oeuvre meetings" is to be hold in the middle of May. May be there'll come representatives of different ages?

Young people, where are you? You miss such interesting things.
