In Jerusalem finished working General Assembly of the Euroasian Jewish Congress (EAJC). On assembly the delegates from the Jewish organizations and communities from the countries of CIS, East Europe and Asian - pacific region, and also members of Board of rabbis of EAJC arrived. During sessions the report about foreign policy initiatives and humanitarian programs of organization were heard and was carried out discussion about a modern situation of the Jews in the countries, which delegates arrived on assembly. Besides that the permissions of management of EAJC for new term were confirmed.

"Reviving Jewish communities of former USSR, no less than ours Diasporas in Asia and Oceania require today not only the help, but also in coordination of the efforts on the international arena, - declared to journalists the President of EAJC Alexander Mashkevitch. - Here we have discussed results of meetings, which constantly we spend with the state, public and religious leaders of a planet".

Besides organizational questions the program of General Assembly of EAJC included joint plenum with the Jewish Agency for Israel (Sokhnut), devoted to 40th anniversary of the international struggle for the rights of the Soviet Jews.

The given theme and the participations of Jewish Diaspora in objective information illumination of Middle East situation also were discussed at special meeting of a management of a congress with Minister of foreign affairs of Israel Tzipi Livni and meeting with a Knesset Commission on aliya and absorption headed by the deputy Michael Nudelman.

"That we for the first time gathered for General Assembly in Jerusalem, became new and very important sign to our solidarity with the Jewish state, - emphasized the President of EAJC. - our support of Israel the uncompromising struggle for Soviet Jewry which began here 40 years ago. And we welcome really heroic leaders of Zionist movement, devoted to clearing of the Jews USSR many years of the life".
